Jewelry Care Instructions

Sterling Silver and Gold-Filled Jewelry

Some of our pieces are made with sterling silver chains and findings. And yes, sterling silver tarnishes. However, a little prevention goes a long way.

Sterling silver is great for everyday wear as it actually stays shinier the more it is worn because the natural oils transferred from our skin make it more resistant to oxidation (the process that results in tarnish). When you do have to store your jewelry, first clean it. You can simply wipe it gently with a soft dry cloth. If it’s necessary to give it a wash, you can soak it in mild dish washing liquid. Be sure to rub gently with a cloth, rinse off all the suds, and dry completely before storing it in an airtight container.

We also recommend an occasional wipe down with a polishing cloth. Click here to add a polishing cloth to your cart.

Argentium® Silver Jewelry

Simply wipe jewelry with a clean soft cloth, or for more intricate pieces, wash them in warm soapy water, then rinse and dry immediately. An occasional wipe with a clean silver polishing cloth will help maintain Argentium's shine and luster. Please DO NOT use 'dip' polishes with Argentium Silver.

As recommended for other precious metals, it is advisable to remove Argentium Silver jewelry before entering swimming pools/jacuzzis and before carrying out activities where jewelry could come into contact with chemicals.

Stainless Steel Jewelry

Simply wipe stainless steel jewelry with a clean, soft cloth after wearing. Stainless steel jewelry may be cleaned with mild dish soap and water, rinsed thoroughly, and dried.
